In early October, we flew to Montrose,
then spent three days camping in the area with amazing Fall colors.

San Juan Mountains near Silverton, CO

Telluride valley

Sneffels Range just west of Ridgway, CO

Cimmaron Mtn at sunset

We camped in total darkness near Silver Jack Reservoir.

Hiking around the campsite while drinking coffee next morning.

This valley is spectacular. We hiked around in the morning.

Then had lunch near a lake.

One of my favorite photos from the trip.

Driving to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

I believe these are West Elk Mountains of Colorado.

We then drove to the famous Kebler Pass road...

and had dinner with a view. We then drove to the south rim of
the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and camped there.

The next morning we hiked on the south rim. Pretty spectacular canyon.

Then in early afternoon we flew home, passing by several snow storms
and beautiful Fall colors all around us.

South San Juans

Platoro reservoir

Conejos valley with Blanca group of peaks on the horizon.

Chama valley. I did not know there were that many Fall colors there.

Alex was tired from staying up late (making smores) and all the hiking.

Here is our flight track, in clockwise direction
