Last weekend Mouser and I climbed Cabezon,
a volcanic plug in New Mexico desert. It enjoyed a great
climb and a spectacular view from the top. Our plan is
to camp on top when the weather stabilizes.

Approach from the south

Pretty high up, just before the rock
climbing steps.

Mouser just below the crack.

The views from the top are great, but
this rain storm was moving fast, so we had to hurry
down.

South view from the top.

Going through the crack on the way down.
This Saturday, I went on a road tour.
Derek joined me for this 460 mile drive.

First we went to Great Sand Dunes
National Park in Colorado. One of my photos (the one
besides me) was selected for hanging inside the visitor
center at the National Park.

On the way back, we took a long detour
and drove through Valle Vidal, which was nice.

More Valle Vidal
Today we went shopping in Santa Fe, then
visited Norman and Gretchen who organized an apple juice
pressing party.

The juice press is waiting.

Paul and Murray warming up.

Henry loved the apples.

Very cute.

The fun continues.

Norman's house is surrounded by games.

Alex talking to the dog.

Apple-shooting cannon, which was awesome!

Norman also has an Indiana Jones-type
ride. Oh so fun.

Norman also has a chicken coop. Alex had
lots of fun.
