We spent the weekend in Great Sand Dunes
National Park. On the way home, we spent some time on
Cumbres Pass, which has very nice hiking opportunities,
as well as a narrow-gauge train.

Medano creek flows out of the mountains
and creates a "beach", where hundreds of people play in
the sand all summer. How fun!

Star Dune in the background is the
highest in the Park (850 ft tall)

After setting up camp up on the mountain
slope, I came down to take some sunset photos

The next day we did a short hike on
Cumbres Pass.

and waited for the narrow gauge train to
arrive from Chama
